Dr. Allison Hamilton DNP, MSN RN

Director of Nursing


Dr. Hamilton is the Director of Nursing at Orlando Recovery Center and has been a practicing nurse for more than 22 years. She has practiced in areas such as trauma, medical-surgical nursing, oncology, end-of-life care, mental and behavioral  care, community health and nursing education. She received her Bachelors of Science in Nursing from Florida A&M University, Masters of Science of Nursing Education from the University of Phoenix and a Doctorate in Nursing Practice from Nova Southeastern University. 

Dr. Hamilton is a community leader, advocate and clinical educator for many local initiatives in the metro Orlando area. She was pivotal in developing the nursing program at Herzing College, at South Seminole College as an adjunct professor, and Kaplan University as an NCLEX Preparation professor. She has also collaborated with several local agencies providing services and education to lower socioeconomic groups. She has worked on the National HIV Awareness Committee, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., annual Mental Health Youth Summit, Orange County Drug Task Force, American Cancer Society, Harbour House, Total Restoration Women’s Group, and with local community fairs. She always answers the call when her community calls.

Allison’s goal is to provide culturally competent care, resources, and standards in healthcare and community-based organization. She strives to nurture the nurse of tomorrow and support the underserved mental and behavioral health community.
