Aftercare & Addiction Recovery

Aftercare at Orlando Recovery Center

You’re not alone when you graduate from our rehab center. Our aftercare resources help you avoid relapse and maintain your new life skills.

What Is Aftercare?

After graduating from treatment at Orlando Recovery Center, our comprehensive aftercare planning connects you with the people and resources needed for lifelong recovery. Your aftercare plan is personalized to your unique needs, giving you the best chance at post-rehab success.

Am I ready for aftercare?

Our team ensures you’re prepared to stay sober before you leave our care. A specialized aftercare plan is the key to getting your life back. You’re ready if:

  • You’ve completed medical detox
  • You’ve finished more intense levels of care, such as inpatient or outpatient care
  • You’ve learned the skills required to maintain sobriety outside of rehab
  • You’re dedicated to overcoming your addiction to drugs or alcohol

Goals of Aftercare

Relapse often happens in addiction recovery, but participating in aftercare programs has been shown to help reduce relapse rates. Aftercare helps clients:

  • Use learned coping strategies to manage triggers in real-world situations.
  • Continue therapeutic work with counselors, psychiatrists and sponsors.
  • Pursue personal and professional goals.
  • Establish a stable support system to maintain accountability.
  • Commit to activities and relationships that encourage a healthy lifestyle.

What to Expect In Our Aftercare Program

Your aftercare planning starts when you begin treatment. Our facility team works closely with your case manager to prepare a comprehensive aftercare plan that will work for you once you’re ready to leave our facility.

After discharge, a patient’s case manager may check on them periodically to ensure they’re doing well and make adjustments to the aftercare plan. Our patients can stay connected to providers they met in rehab through Nobu, ensuring treatment continues with professionals familiar with their history and recovery journey.

Treatment here saved my life 2 years ago. I came after spending a week in the hospital after an overdose and stayed for two months. My cheapo insurance (obviously wasn’t employed at the time) was able to cover it and I got billed I think $500. I always thought rehab would be unattainable, that you’d have to pay thousands before you can get in, and most addicts don’t have that luxury or family who can help. I had terrible nightmares where I would wake up screaming throughout the night after being in the coma and they gave me my own room which I appreciated so much, people could hear me down the hall so I know my roommate in detox was probably going insane! They set me up with outpatient care and a PCP after my release and taught me a lot. I would recommend ORC for sure.My only negative experience I don’t want to blame on the entire place, because the group leaders, my therapist, doctors, were amazing- but there were a couple staff members who were known to be rude/inappropriate. I know that places are short staffed but it got to a point of a group of patients making a list of concerns and hopefully has been addressed because I still remember it. A male staff member that worked overnights came up to some of us sitting at a table eating bagels and singled me out saying I should watch my carbs and have gained weight since getting there. A big part of my drug use involved my disordered eating habits and using amphetamines originally to lose weight. Most nights after that in the snack line he would make little quips like “don’t try to sneak extra I’m watching”. Gave girls his number. Things like that. I developed narcolepsy after my overdose (apparently that can happen after traumatic brain injury/loss of oxygen) and would fall asleep in my room throughout the day. He would scream at me for that, open my door and laugh at me or say that I didn’t seem to want to be there. I tried to explain I didn’t know why I was so exhausted and was trying. One of the nurses when I woke up late for meds went off on me, then the next day said she looked at my chart and apologized because she didn’t realize what I had gone through. This is a treatment center so they should be aware everyone has a story and likely has comorbid mental/physical health issues.Getting meds could be pretty hectic but I think that’s to be expected at any rehab. A lot of days in residential they wouldn’t have Suboxone until the afternoon and it could get pretty dicey waiting to dose and patients getting agitated. There definitely was an issue with stocking meds like that. The “Suboxone takers” had our own line and joked that we were the miscreants of the place, lol

I can't stress enough how important addiction treatment is. I was at my lowest when I got to Orlando Recovery Center and from the first few minutes going through admissions until the day I graduated I was treated with kindness and professionalism. I am in the MA T program and Crystal who is the coordinator of MA T at ORC knows her stuff and she answered all of my questions and concerns. Just want to say thank you to everyone there especially Alicia, Tiffany ,Pat and Crystal. Trust me you won't regret choosing Orlando Recovery Center.

I was in Recovery Village for about a month and a half. I absolutely loved the staff they are all very caring and easy to talk to. Stephanie (BHT) was so wonderful she was very kind and very caring. If you needed to talk she would always listen. My counselor Lindsey was also wonderful, she helped me work through so much.

Overall ORC did an exceptional job on helping me become the best version of myself as possible. From the top, to the bottom, all the staff took great care of me. I spent my 49th birthday 🎂 there on October 6th and it was the first time I was sober on my birthday in 30 years. Everyone cheered for my special day and my sobriety. Today I'm 62 days sober and I will continue to strive to be GREAT and stay sober. My NAME IS JIMMIE ROWRY AND I MATTER!!!! I would recommend ORC to anyone battling ADDICTION, it only works if you work it😎
